Older homes with coppers pipes can impart lead into the water, due to the fact that up until 1986 plumbers were allowed to use lead solder to connect copper pipe, acid water breaks down the solder imparting it into the water. Acid water also eats thru hot water heaters, washing machines dish washers etc. Your waters' Ph level should be 7.0 - 7.2 on the PH scale. An acid neutralizer will keep your plumbing and fixtures from corroding beyond repair.
